Arrival day looks a little different depending on the destination you're traveling to. Some tours tend to have flights arriving in the morning and some later throughout the day. You'll receive your flight information around 30 days prior to departure and your tour director will reach out about arrival day specifics closer to tour (usually by 7 days prior to departure) but here are some general expectations.
If you're arriving in the morning
Most flights to Europe will arrive in the early to mid-morning. If you purchased flights through Ultimate Break, your tour director will let you know where to meet once you go through immigrations and customs. It's usually an easy to find landmark like a cafe or exit door. You may have to wait a bit if there are other travelers arriving on flights around the same time as you before your tour director gets you on your included transfer to the first accommodation. Most often this is your chartered bus for the tour, but in select locations it's easier for them to arrange private cars or taxis to take smaller groups.
Hotel check in tends to be around 3pm. Most accommodations will allow you to store your luggage if your room isn't ready and then you are free to explore! Your tour director will give you more details about the rest of the afternoon when you arrive but the first planned activity will be the welcome dinner sometime in the evening.
If you're arriving at night
Flights to Asia, Central, and South America tend to arrive in the evening and can even arrive after midnight. If you've purchased flights with us, your tour director will give you information about your airport transfer about a week prior to your departure. You'll take a transfer, either a chartered bus or certified taxi, to your hotel and get to sleep that jetlag off! Heads up, the next day you'll hit the ground running with activities, so you may not get to sleep in.
If you purchased your own flights
As a reminder, you'll want to make sure you arrive in time for the welcome dinner. If you have any questions about that, feel free to reach out to our team and we can give you more insight into when travelers tend to arrive but note that this information will be pretty general. You will not have an included transfer as a land only traveler, so you'll be responsible for getting to the first accommodation yourself. We generally suggest using a ride share service like an Uber or a Lyft, or purchasing a certified taxi outside of the airport. You do not need to contact the Tour Director to let them know of your arrival time, they will just be expecting you at the welcome dinner and are available via the app chat during your travels if you run into any issues.
