In general, your days will be pretty full. There's so much to see and do, so make sure to bring your walking shoes! Our itineraries are a perfect mix of planned activities, free time, and optional excursions. Ultimately, it's your adventure, and you can do as much or as little of our itinerary as you choose, but expect a fairly fast pace.
Understanding activity levels
All of our guided tours have physical demands. Our rating system ranks tours as low, moderate, high, or very high for physical activity to give travelers an idea of what to expect.
Physical activity level is determined based on an itinerary's included activities. We consider things like the amount and type of walking, standing, and stair-climbing involved with the group's participation.
Free time activities are not reflected in the overall rating. How each traveler spends this time—on an excursion, exploring on their own, or resting—may make the physical activity feel more intense.
How to find an use activity level
A physical activity level is listed on each tour's website page. Select the level name—low, moderate, or high.
Use the physical activity level to help decide if a trip is the right fit for you.
Activity Level: Low
This is your classic sightseeing tour. Sure, you’ll do a bit of walking, we estimate about 7,000-10,000 steps a day (more if you add excursions). Plus, there’s some free time for you to enjoy at your own pace.
Activity Level: Moderate
Wear your fitness tracker and watch those steps pile up. We estimate you'll walk about 10,000-16,000 steps a day (more if you add excursions) on varying terrain. It’s definitely an adventure. Some days might be lighter than others but you can expect at least one major step day on this itinerary.
Activity Level: High
Pack your most comfortable shoes and prepare for an adventure. You’ll be walking and moving a lot on each day of this trip. We estimate 16,000 steps a day.
