Visas in advance
eVisa
Most countries have the option to apply for a visa entirely online. You will be asked to fill out your personal and travel information and upload any required documents. Fill out the relevant information to the best of your ability, using your accommodations that are listed in your online account as local contacts where appropriate. At the end of your application, you will pay any applicable fees by credit card and be issued your electronic visa typically in just a few days. This is a very fast and cost-effective way to obtain your visa.
Consulate
You may be able to purchase a visa directly through the consulate of your destination country or region. You should contact your nearest consulate or visit their website to learn about their visa process. With this option, you'll likely need to apply in person (make sure you show up prepared with any required documents) or through the mail, and the processing time is typically longer than applying for an eVisa.
Visas on Arrival
Once you arrive at the airport in the country or region where a visa is required for entry, you’ll proceed to the area where visa processing is handled. This is an easy and cost-effective way of obtaining your visa. It’s important to do you research beforehand as some countries require that certain documents be printed in advance and only accept certain payment methods when applying at the border. Lines can also be long, so we suggest applying for an eVisa (if available) in advance, rather than on arrival. Keep in mind that not every country has an on-arrival option.
When to apply
Each type of Visa has different processing times. Visas on arrival and eVisas are very quick, whereas if you have a non-US passport that requires you to go through a consulate, it can take several weeks. We suggest you reach out to your consulate shortly after you book your trip with us so that you have an understanding of how long it will take to receive your visa and to set up an appointment in advance, if necessary. If you are prevented from traveling due to lack of adequate entry documentation, you will be subject to standard rebooking and cancellation policies, so make sure to get the process started sooner rather than later.
